Frequently Asked Questions for Sentinel Pointe

How does Sentinel Pointe differ from a Continuing Care Retirement Community?

bigstock-High-angle-view-portrait-of-an-41360218Assisted living and continuum of care. These are terms we have all heard when researching a facility for our parents, other relatives or friends. Many families are unaware of the care that Sentinel Pointe offers that is usually only associated with continuing care retirement options.

Our goal is to keep your loved one here at Sentinel Pointe for the rest of their life. We offer a unique lifestyle that allows our residents to stay in their own apartment and add on assistance as it is needed. This has proven to be a very cost effective way to give our residents the care they need and the ability to stay in their home where they have established friendships with other residents and staff.

Many times a resident needs some extra help with med set-up and/or administration, bathing, dressing and transportation to meals or other events. Often just straightening out the medications can make a huge difference with both mental and physical well being. We offer all of this and more. And remember, transports community worship service and any activity are always at no additional cost.

Less than one percent of our residents have had to move to a nursing home and the few that have moved to assisted living facilities have reported better care and more attention from Sentinel Pointe staff members.

What Senior Healthcare Services does Sentinel Pointe offer?

If you believe you will need more care in the future, rest assured that our Health & Wellness Center is staffed 24 hours a day and is available to help with bathing, dressing, medication, transports to meals and activities, and more. We have LPNs and RNs on staff that deliver caring senior healthcare services to our residents.

Is Health Care Assistance included in the rent?

We have our rent and our health care services priced separately as many of our residents do not need assistance. Residents are able, however, to add on care as needed and stay in the same apartment.

Flexible Health Care Assistance Pricing

Our residents appreciate having flexible, but clear pricing that separates their personal and specific health care assistance and their residency costs.  As each resident is different and has different needs, we’ve structured our pricing as more ‘ala carte’ – only what you need, nothing that you don’t.

Do get more specifics on our Health Care Assistance and Residency Pricing, contact our resident coordinator to give you a specific estimate on what your monthly costs would be at Sentinel Pointe Retirement Community.

If I Require More Care, Do I Have to Move? (eg Home Health Care)

No, we don’t want our residents to have to move from their apartment and neighbors. Our health care staff come to your apartment anywhere in the building; essentially making it very similar to home health care services, but all contained within the Sentinel Pointe Retirement Community Campus.

Do you cater to special dietary needs?

If you have special dietary needs don’t fret! We have a dietician available and a wide variety of food to help with your needs. We also provide a variety of diabetic foods.
